as the topic reads, does anyone make subframe spacers for our cars? when i had my car on jacks and was installing my DTSS bushings i notcied that one of our bushings for our subframe is not solid at all but had some type of teeth on them... i hated to look at it so i stopped. and now that i look back on it i was curious if anyone made a solid subframe bushing set for our cars.

you mean the rear diff mounts?
|
no idea, they were just really scarry loking kinda like this... /\/\/\/\/\/\ where it meets up with the chassis. and i found that uras makes them for our cars but i am curious if ther is a US company that makes em.
|
thats the rear diff mount hat. The stock ones are more than adequite and I have yet to see one fail. The front diff mount is a different story, but the rears are built pretty stout.
|
it isnt really about it failing, it is just... soft. i want something that is amazing, and when pushing to the limit i would want something predictable. like a massive solid mount.
|
the only thing a solid mount will do is transfer all the vibrations and shock directly into the body of the car and differential. But if you feel its too soft for you, have at it!

My Webpage
I would be alot more worried about the front diff mount and the toe linkage, before subframe mounts. |

I made my own out of delrin on a lathe. Made delrin subframe mounts, Delrin differential mounts. Result 1.) You can hear the differential gears whinning 2.) Each time you load and unload the drivetrain (clutch in/clutch out to shift) the differential goes bang and is felt in the metal of the chassis of the car. Which you seat is bolted to. Performance increase? zero or negetive, since the car is less fun to drive now. |
everyone that i have talked to about putting the mounts in say that they are loud. meh, loud doesnt bother me. but wheel hop does. and if i can slide and know that the wheels are planted into the ground i love it.
