Ok, some more questions. Where does the ground for the battery go? I am going to make sure that is tight.

Obviously being loose would cause hard starts and lack of charging right?

also. Why is it not safe to run a wire... (Directly from alt post to + on battery terminal...) doesnt the altenator have a built in resistor?

Guys, i'm just trying to solve my charging problems. she's never done this before, and now all a sudden she's leaving me in parking lots after work! WTF!

The main battery ground has 2 connection points:

1. A terminal crimped in the middle of the cable, bolted with a 6mm bolt on the lower portion of the drivers side strut tower. loosen and sandpaer clean the connection, reconnect and cover with Di-Electric grease to impede further corrosion/oxidation

2. On the rear of the engine, the 10 mm Tranny to block bolt above the upper starter bolt, again clean and cover with Di-Electric grease.

Hope this answers your question JOhn

well the one you were talking about. on the lower portion of the strut tower. it wasnt there. THere's no crimp in the wire or anything. i'm like WTF>

Ok, how about this. If i add a wire 8 guage or so : from the altenator Bracket to the neg on the batt.... than from the neg on the batt... to a good clean spot on the chassis. WIll this be OK? should help a little right?

Most of the load is via the starter. Mount the NEW GROUND (Min. 4/0) from the tansmission bolt above the starter to the chassis, Then run a ground (2/0 min. ) from the battery to the same chassis location as the starter ground. Then run one from the Alt bracket (8 GA. is fine here) to the same chassi ground.

The GOAL is to adequately ground while avoiding creating a GROUND LOOP. JOhn

PS: Make sure you have the 10GA. Ground from the top of the tranny to the spade ug to the right of the windshoeld wiper motor

Well, after new altenator.. new battery, and 4 new ground wires... one on each side of engine going to chassis. one from negitive batt to chassis and one more from altenator mount to neg batt i am still getting flicker.

WHen i press on brakes at night i still get dimming of front lights and radio. I do not have any aftermarket accessorys besides an E-fan. and i am still getting 3800 Hesitation even after ground the fuel rail to the fire wall.

What is wrong with my car.. lol, it's getting kinda funny.

THanks.. Markus

Well the dimming is normal, the car only has a 70(?)amp alternator. Still getting the hesitation... Check the injector wiring, and the pins on the injectors..
