So I messed up the vert already.

Saturday I was fixing a few things including a radiator leak by the sensor on top. It was cracked and everything is closed till monday. I thought it would be ok, it was the only leak in the system so I plugged with a oil pan bolt, it was perfect. On monday I will got get a new sensor.

Decide to go for a nice drive with the gf to go have lunch.

WHen I'm about 5 miles to my destination, I notice I lost a lot of power and that's when I notice the temp guage pegged. The famous heater hose had burst, car stall right away when I stopped.

Had it towed home, neighbors weren't happy about the extra noise because of my friend being there also fixing his FD.

I'm going to replace the hose and see what happens.

What do you think, toasted???

to a nice golden brown....

RotaryVillain 06-04-2007 12:20 PM

yes quite toasty, if i were you start shopping here and on ebay for a replacement engine or somewhere to get a rebuild kit.

turborotor 06-04-2007 12:22 PM

Probably, I didn't' notice the lost of power till I exit on to another freeway and stepped on it. I hate to have another RX7 down, I wanted to put in a turbo engine but not this soon.

RotaryVillain 06-04-2007 12:24 PM

well use this as an excuse to build the Turbo engine of your dreams! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

LOL, I have the TII waiting for its turbo engine since January. The vert was suppose to be my daily beater.

The was no smoke coming out of the tail pipes when I pulled over, only smoke from the side of the engine. I will have to just replace the hose and see what happens.

turborotor 06-04-2007 11:06 PM

This is it, the engine is officially toasted.

I replaced the hose and filled up with water. When it cracked it shoot water out of the radiator cap almost 5 feet high on the first cranks.

What kind of damaged am I looking at? Warped housings or side housings.

I was thinking of rebuilding or swapping out the engine with a used one or even rebuild my TII engine and swapping but i'll be missing the stock turbos or getting a j-pec TII engine. I heard I can run the turbo engine with stock ecu?

Thanks for you help.

My guess is the rotor housings are warped.

Sounds expensive, lol.

Interesting enought my gf wants me to fix it right away, I thougth she was going to be mad and tell me to put it away for a while.

She love the vert after I got it.

She even suggestted putting in my tired TII engine in it but needs to be rebuild, it also has bad o rings but not as bad as the NA, it still work.

I'm actually thinking of getting a jspec s5 TII, anyone know any places around Los Angeles that sells them.

I might as well go TII now. The car has a TII drivetrain.

turborotor 06-06-2007 11:02 AM

Is turbo time.

I'm getting a long block TII engine that needs some rebuilding.

ANyone know how to get oil out of very porous concrete. The vert is now leaking oil. I can pic it up with kitty litter but there is a stain. ANy one know of any good cleaners?
