well. i rode the dyno again today. horrible let down.
i made only about 10-12hp over stock/my base run (well, gutted cats). (so i made 129hp at the wheels. worst was 107, best was 129. but it went up and down a few times with screwing with the airflow meter.) they made me get off because some bitch in the class wanted to dyno her z28. i made 4 runs in 20 minutes, total time on was like, 30 minutes. the 350z before me didnt know **** about his car and took all of MY appointment time (i was supposed to be there at 10, but with 45 minutes for lunch, and his slow ass, i didnt get on till 12) trying to find out his final drive and bore x stroke. so she was all "its been pushed back several times already, so if you could hurry up, we'd appreciate it. TELL IT TO THE 350Z, BITCH! </rant> so anyway. i put a cone filter on, pineapple sleeve inserts, and a custom true dual exhaust. it all comes down to tuning really. im about to buy a microtech LT8 from my roommate, so we'll see. i have to wait another 8 weeks for the class to be in the dyno room again, so maybe ill have my engine built by then. if i had more time on the dyno, i could have probably bootleg tuned 135-140 @ wheels. |
We will get it next time man... Maybe with everything you want including the engine, maybe not... But we will find some more somewhere...

Yea, you should really be nearing 135-140whp with the setup you had.. new motor (ported i assume) and standalone should get near 180-200whp easily...I've seen fully tuned 13B 6 ports make 202whp on stock ports...
|
so you think i could do 200 wheel with a 6 port?
i was kinda planning on a ported 4 port @9500rpm+ but im still kind of in limbo on what i want to do. |
Well, the car I saw spin the rollers to 202whp was a spec car professionally built. Not saying you couldn't do it, but I was really impressed and consider myself a decent rotary tuner ..and I'm not sure I could have pulled that off. I believe they had countless hours in tuning. I would def say though you could 180whp or more on a stock ported 6 port motor.
The 4 Port NA is a better idea though, they typically yield more power, and if you actually build it w/ the turbo rotors, etc, you could do a nice NA-NOS setup.. I plan to get at least 180whp out of my 12A 4Port before nitrous... |
Non-turbo 13bs never yield anything impressive on the dyno...

impressive is relative.
what about 300Hp NA? (not saying thats what im shooting for) |

impressive is relative. Very true, I would concetrate on making the car as light as possible instead of HP. |
Always a downer E, let the NA guys play... lol. Just because we ditched NA doesn't mean they want to! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
Besides, NA is fun for a first gen... |
