I'VE GOT A 88 TII. WHEN I START IT ON VERY COLD MORNINGS (WHEN IT GETS -15 OVERNIGHT) (YES I LIVE IN CANADA) I GET SMOKE COMMING RIGHT FROM MY TURBO AREA, ASWELL AS A BURNING OIL TYPE SMELL. ONCE IT WARMS UP THE SMOKE AND SMELL GOES AWAY. IF I START IN WARMER WEATHER (LETS SAY 0) THIS PROBLEM NEVER HAPPENS. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS MIGHT BE AND WHY DOES IT ONLY HAPPEN ON COLD STARTS

first turn off caps lock. it sounds like you need to replace the gaskets on the oil return line. how many miles on the car ?
|
yah the oil lines to the turbo might leak when it gets that cold

or they just might be old and cracking
|
you wanna know what the dealership would tell you? dont start the car when its that cold

i would invest in a oil warmer before you start your car, might save your engine?
