I have an electric Autometer oil pressure gauge, and when I first got it, it would sit right above 25 @ idle and almost make it to 75 @ anything much higher than ~2500.
Now, I was removing the sending unit once and the body of it started to unscrew itself apart ( I dont think thats supposed to happen... ). I put it back together and wired it all back up but I cant rememebr what it read right away. I have noticed that lately my oil pressure now reads right at 25 @ idle and just a hair lower than it did before at higher RPM's. Its such a small drop in pressure, I cant justify it to being any real problem, so I thought maybe the sending unit it just a little bit off now after being halfway taken apart? Eventually, Im going to replace all my Autometer gauges with some good quality electrical gauges. |
I have the same thing.. it reads around 23 psi at idle of ~700 rpm. I wouldn't be too concerned about it. The electrical ones are even less accurate I believe.
