What is this? Reason I ask, our S5 vert has this curved spring deal (looks like a hefty paper clip) in the shifter hole, but my S4 does not.

I never thought it was, it shifts fine as far as I can tell. I have the mazdatrix short shifter and new shifter bushings in there.

how short of a throw is the miata shifter compared to others? i have the mazdaracing.com short throw and it seems alot shorter than the miata one in that video
