So I've been though 2 company's that claim they're intake is going to fit my base model FC3S non turbo, and both intakes they have sent me are for turbo's. Anybody have a base model FC3S with a cold air or short ram intake? I'm looking to install one before may for I will be driving my near stock car in local auto cross events. im not trying to build up my car a extreme amount just looking for a hair more power for this season of Auto-X mainly putting money into handling this year.

if you know how to weld you can make your own from mandrel bent exhaust pipe. looks cheesy but it does the job lol

you can buy a $20 ebay one it fits just no brackets or you can buy a k&n one and call it good but if your car isnt 100% stock you cant auto x it in the stock class

Thats not exactly the case up here (alaska) as far as I've been told. but either way i'd like to find one that is going to fit with all my stock components.

I believe the one Ricer J is talking about is a cone filter that bolts to your AFM. Without modification, it is neither a cold air or short ram intake (it just sucks in hot engine bay air).



The stock system is already a "cold air" intake, it takes air from the front grill.



However, you can make a semi-custom intake for very little cash. This is what I did. I bought the cone filter and adapter to bolt to the AFM on ebay for cheap. Make a shield around it using cardboard, to keep it from sucking hot air from the engine bay. Copy the cardboard shape to a sheet of aluminum (or whatever material you want to use). I made mine to bolt between the AFM and the adapter that holds the filter on, so it would always stay in place.



Then you need to funnel air to it. I removed my windshield washer fluid reservoir (and enlarged the reservoir neck hole) and the right brake duct, and used corrugated aluminum tubing to feed the filter. It worked great for me. Other people take air from below/next to the radiator, or kept the stock front-half of the intake funneling air through a hole in the shield (that takes air from the front grill), or any number of places, use your imagination.

well i have a vented headlight cover so it helps me out in getting cold air and tank what did you mean "thats not exactly the case up here"?

Auto cross up here isn't so strict and theirs not so many class's. but either way i guess it dose not matter this FC is staying stock, I'm picking up a 88 at the end of summer and going build that one for auto cross and have a lot more done to it then just minor power increases

Do a search here, I vaguely remember someone using a CAI from a Prelude with some success.
