I have recently found out that I have a short or a loose connection in the wiring of the plug that goes into the Air Flow Meter. I noticed this due to idling problems that were not resolved with timing changes or idle screw changes. The idle was bouncing around like crazy.

When I move the wires going into the plug the car will change idle and try to stall.

Can I get a new wiring harness for this? How difficult is it to change something like this? I am afraid to take the plug apart for fear i may find something I cannot fix. i have it temporarily fixed by holding in a position where it functions properly using wire ties but I know this will not last.

Any ideas? Thanks.

If anyone has this harness for sale or can part with one off of a parts car please let me know. This wiring leads into a larger harness that plugs in kinda behind the water pump.

I have an S4 Engine harness available. 65 shipped

If that includes that plug that goes into the AFM I will take it. Let me know how to get the money to you.

yeah what banzai has includes the plug you need. Youll have to change the whole engine harness though.

I don't know if I have the knowledge to do it myself but I can find someone local to help. Sounds like a big job. And I suck with electrical ****.

I don't think it would be that bad, I just think of it like a lamp, that happens to have 20 plugs instead of 1.

yah its just unplugging stuff and plugging stuff back in its not like you're making a harness from scratch

gazellis 09-24-2003 02:14 PM

I could probably handle that.
