Sry but im a European car guy, Drive a GTI right now waiting on the RX-7 build im doing this winter, has anyone ever shaved the engine bay in a RX-7? Seems like it would probably be pretty difficult but who knows.

its been done. not by me though, depending on how crazy you get it doesnt look too bad, theres a few studs to pull out, and some holes to weld up, and then you're good right?

I shaved some of mine before getting it painted. Didn't fill up many of the holes because I wasn't sure which ones I may still want to use when I'm done.

The holes I don't use I will just cover with polished steel and clean bolt heads... nothing too crazy. There isn't much point in shaving the rx engine bay, everybody just stares at the engine dumbfounded anyways.

Here's pics of mine...

those pictures don't really do that engine bay any justice I still see some of my dried up spooge in the hole for the master cylinder. Did you take those pics in Aldie or are they the old ones?

Those were back about a day after it was sprayed.

The spooge is the liner/matting from the firewall... it'll all be cleaned up eventually, but I hadn't touched much of it.

And yes, the pics are funny. The pics make it look almost "sky" blue when light hits it.. and you cant even see the pearl on the top of the firewall, lol

And those "white" areas are reflection from the paint - I never noticed how crappy those pics actually were until now, lol.

Oh well... most of it gets covered up anyways..
