Well, I just purchased this car last week. I'm in the process of finding and working out all of the problems with the vehicle. As you might have noticed from some of my previous posts, there are quite a few... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png
One problem has moved to the top of the priority list after a close call with a car coming at me the wrong way on the highway last night. The drivers side seatbelt track and connector is busted. The connector will not allow the seatbelt to plug into it and it will not move up and down on the track. I need to replace it ASAP. My questions are as follows. I was told that since it was the seatbelt (safety equipment) that the dealer would repair it for free. Have any of you found this to be true? I just came back from the dealership and they looked at me like I was fu*king crazy. They said the new seatbelt track assembly would cost $540. That's more than half of what I paid for the car. OUCH!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png If anyone knows of any options or if someone that has one for sale, please let me know. Thanks Again! |
I'm guessing that's an electric seat belt?

yeah s5 are electric

I'd either convert it to a regular seatbelt, of just buy some 5 pt harnesses. I did hear that dealers are suppsoed to fix them for free though.
|
wasnt there a recall on them?
|
I believe their was a recall on those, take it to the dealer and see what they say.
|
now is a good time to get yourself some nice 5-point harnesses! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683827.gif

there was a recall for them not working, not for them falling off.
Do the motors work at all? You could always get a set of non-working tracks stick em in the car and have the dealer fix them under recall, as long as the car hasnt had them fixed yet. |
so there is a regular conversion kit?,,, like it is possible?
