So last night, I was taking the seats out of my car to put in my new racing seats. I got the passenger seat out fine, and I got three of the bolts out, but on the fourth bolt, the weld on the nut broke loose, and I cant figure out how to get a wrench to the nut. Has anyone had this problem before? I would really appreciate some help. Thanks.

Is simply drilling it out an option, then retapping the hole?

sears has screw extractors available and they work well..

make sure you choose the right size..

An airhammer going straight through the bolt was my only option.

I got two plain black seats from JCWhitney. I think they cost around $50 per seat. They aren't the most comfortable seats, but if you want a good, lightweight seat, and you're on a tight budget, these are great. You might also want to order the mounting kit, which comes with everything you need, but i can't remember how much that cost.

I think I might just grind the head off the bolt, and worry about putting new bolts in later, since my car isn't even legal yet. I still need new seatbelts and front struts, but then it should pass inspection.
