ive been thinking about making a plexiglass hatch for the black car. The frame would be made of carbon fiber, with a plexiglass window. Very light, and still utilizing the stock hinges and latches. Probably be about 400-500 bucks depending on how much the parts are.

Yeah lexan won't shatter.. How much does the stock hatch weight I bet you would save more than 50% on the weight..

so are there any downsides? That would save a lot of weight, that hatch is heavy.

How's this for interest....how much and where do I send the check?

I've been wanting to find/have one made for awhile...if you could get one done, I would be willing to help in manufacturing more.
