So, I have a GSL-SE CAS in my s5 t2 and was wondering if I'm shooting myself in the foot by doing this?

Is there any differences between different years CAS?

I know I'm having a hell of a time getting the leading/trailing split right with this CAS or maybe I'm still a bit of a newb.

Leading is dead on but the close i can get the trailing is about half way between the leading and trailing mark (shying more towards the leading mark).

Anyone have some input on this?

Thank guys,

-Chris

GSL-SE has a dizzy , s4 and s5 have a dizzy hole mounted CAS

s4 CAS has the bump on the flat cover and a rubber grommet ( view hole )

s5 CAS cover is flat and has a plastic button instead of a grommet

inside the s4 and the s5 are the same , swap them all you like

if you have timing issues is because you have idle speed too high , TPS calibration issue and or dont have the set couple enabled

get rpm around 750 rpm, calibrate the TPS, and use the set couple

when all of these are happy the ecu will lock timing at 5 and 20 ATDC

PS

use a cheap non inductive timing light to confirm the trailing timing,, stops the timing light from seeing the leading timing inductive pulse and firing early , appearing as if the trailing timing is bad,, when often it is not

thanks for the help... my TPS is WAY screwed up... lots of dead spots --> aquiring replacement

Lol I told you this Chris, but more confirmation never hurts right :-P

Good info guys! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I was trying to figure out if different CAS would/could affect my timing split or intial TDC timing... we never talked about that Joe... at least I don't think so
