arite....well after the lower rad hose, theres a little hose that has a screw clamp on it, that goes into the LRH piping on the radiator itself....how do i get that **** off...its rusted on like crazy, i dont know which way to screw it, if i have to tighten it to squeeze the clamp or loosen it to open the clamp, or if i can ratchet it off
thanks |
usually its just a spring clamp.................. just squeeze it and pull it down. if its a screw type unscrew it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
the lower hose is usually annoying to take off might need channel lock plyers to break it loose |
its not that part....on the rad itself it has taht pipe to attach the lower hose to.....then theres a diff hose coming out of a second smaller pipe
i dont know how to get it off jon come over...ur like 20 mins away! |
i am at work and its starting to rain
|
SLEDGEHAMMER.. ! Geez...
|
starting to rain? better go put the car cover back on
just wiggle that **** back and forth, try sticking a screwdriver in between the hose and the radiator to break it free. Now is a good time to cut that bitch off and put a new hose on. Get the new hose first. |
well i got everything done....next step is to put the new rad in.
so what happens?...i take the koyo out of the box and its ******* shitted up....fins bent and the filler hole looked like a D not an O ... so i called them up and explained it - theyre overnighting it to my house tomorrow and then getting ups to pick up the broke one so theyre a great company - helpful - and understanding..buy from them! |
oh and for the mods who saw and delted my post by the same name and topic in GenD - -- sorry for posting there its just a lot more people look there and i needed a fast answer !

did you check out my site? |
Yup, I gave in to temptation and clicked the link in your sig..
|
another good idea is to use a small screwdriver to lift up the lip of the hose and spray wd-40 inbetween the hose and the hose neck, go smoke a cigarette and come back, it will fly off.
|
Well, just buy a new hose and hose clamp. Once you have all the parts to replace the stuff you are trying to remove, go medieval on it with the blowtorch and pliers. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png Just cut the crap off and put new parts one. If it's been on long enough to get that stuck on then it's high time to replace it. Seriously, if it's that stuck then how good can the hose be. It's not worth trusting. Once you get all the stuck on hose bits off the radiator, don't forget the sandpaper to make a nice clean surface for the new hose to go on to.
|
when i pulled my lower rad hose it was stuck on like a bitch. took for ever to get off but it was still good when i inspected it afterwards and im still using it now.
|
Removal of hoses I didn't originally put on the car = replacement.
|
you are all dummies.... the heater hose next to the lower rad hose was giving me a problem
not the hose itself but this stupid clamp it had holding it on i wound up ripping it off and using a new clamp..... but not i have to wait till wednesday for a new radiator since the one that came in the mail today was damaged |
