i know its been discussed many times. but i tried searching for some info around here but couldnt find one... if i do an s5 engine swap to an s4 body? what stuff do i need to do to make it work?

thinking of doing an s5 swap into a 10ae. I heard there are a lot of stuff that i need to deal with in order for this to work. can anyone shed some light on this? Im sorry if im asking this again.

what does everyone suggest? should i just find an s4 motor so i dont have to worry about the electric oil pump?

just find an s4 motor... unless you really want to do the s5 swap, youll need an s5 motor (or just the crank angle sensor, omp, and tps sensor converted to s5), both engine wiringing harnesses, computer, dash/interior harness, s5 guage cluster, and all the s5 sensors and stuff.

it kinda depends. if you just swap in the s5 block, then thats all you need to do.

if you want the s5 ecu, then you need the s5 engine harness, mop, tps's, and some other sensors. also the ecu plug is different between s4 and s5 so you either need to swap wiring harnesses or make an adaptor.

so if i wanted the entire s5 swap.

the best thing to do would probably be to get a front clip with an uncut harness.

correct?

another question.

are there any differences between the transmissions when comparing an s4 t2 tranny to an s5 t2 tranny?

i noticed that C's has different short shifter kits..depending on which series you have.

S3/S4 is one kit

S5/S6 is the other one.

yep, but the jdm stuff is a mirror image of ours. good news is for s5 the na and t2 are wired the same except for the engine harness (which is really close)

the tranny's are different, basically minor though, the mount is different (but still bolts to the sam spot in the car) and the shifter is different but they do interchange

I am finding the same thing here. I have an s4 body with and s5 engine and I am now find out that the are not matching up here. What is this adaptor you speak of and how would you go about making this

happen? The sensors you speak of... If you have found any information that you have found please send it my way. I have to get this car back on the road.

I had a N/A S4 and dropped a S5 engine into it with the following mods

t3/t4 hybrid turbo 13psi

standard injectors ( now at their limit)

large extend port

lightend pullys

Bosh 044 external pump with stock pump as a pre-pump

Surge tank

T boost contral

k&n air pod filter

top mount moved to the front for better air flow and no heat soak.

turbosmart 45mm wastegate on a screamer pipe

2.5inch duel exit exhaust

Microtech mtx10 stand alone ecu

I have had no problems mechanically, but heaps with the law.

in my opinion if ur wanting to do future upgrades then get the s5 motor drop it in and upgrade the ecu to a piggy back or stand alone and u should be fine, plus it sets u up for plenty of future mods.
