Hello, Can someboy here please tell me if I can put a series 4 manual transmission into my s5 car which is manual? I have heard that it will bolt right up and that I will need to do something with the fylwheel (put the s4 one in my s5?) I dont know if this will work. Im am looking for someboy who has experience doing this or has had it done to there car. My transmission is broken and I need a new one, and i dont wanna bother finding a series 5 tranny. Please help me! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

You don't want to change the flywheel. s4 & s5 have different size counterweights.

so what do you need cucz i might be doin somethin like that

Us the flywheel that came with the car, or make sure you get the counterweight that came with the flywheel you are putting in.

As long as you are swapping NA to NA or turbo to turbo s4 and s5 are the same bellhousing and bolt pattern.

It's simple. Phins is correct about the bolt pattern but he is wrong obout the flywheel. Don't change your flywheel unless you get the correct one for your car. You shouldn't need to change your flywheel if you're just changing trannies. Just take out the old tranny and put in the new one. I do recomend that you change your clutch and bearings and have your flywheel resurfaced while you doing this. It will save you from having to go through dropping your tranny again. This is of course assuming that you haven't already changed your clutch, bearings, and resurfaced the flywheel.

if you're only changing trannies they just go right in
