What year is the car? Could be a leaking pulsation damper, fuel line, or just the lovely smell of a rotary.

Leaking PD=bad news...any fuel leaking period does, but the PD especially b/c the fuel has a nice path to drip right onto the nice hot exhaust heat shield..just check it out.

ok guys i went and had it checked out and the PD was already changed in 1989 due to a recall or somthing and i found out what the problem is. it's the f^cking fuel pressure regulator which is gonna run me about 80.00 but will save me in a long run cause i'm dripping out more fuel than i'm burning which is costing just shy of $30 a week. Once again thanx

there are no recalls done by mazda.

Many FC owners from the "OLD LIST" petitioned and begged Mazda company to do a recall on this defective item. Mazda told everyone that hte car is too old and that this no long applies to defective engineering.

So us enthusists have to foot teh bill to get a new one or rebuild a car that has caught on fire.

Not a pretty sight if that happens.

Good luck
