well i am wiring in an electronic fan, cannot find any info on where the thermoswitch is for the stock fan... Its an 88 TII please help.

 

Assuming it's the same as my '87 (S4), there is a very distinct possibility that there is no fan switch for temp as the cars come with a mechanical fan and clutch that is connected directly to the motor. I haven't done any research yet as to how to add one, but plan to in the future as I'm looking at going to an electric fan to remove more parasitic drag from the motor.

 

Actually i think there is, because the TII comes with a small electric fan mounted behind the A/C condensor, not sure if it is controlled by engine temp, or by the use of A/C. I know that S5 TII have the thermoswitch in the waterpump housing right near the thermostat.

 

There should be a temp sender for the gauge cluster, which is prolly the one near the thermostat. Most A/C fans that I have run across come on and off w/ the A/C, not actually based of water temp. Though things could be different in these cars.

 

the a/c electriac fan control is on top of the thremostat housing, the temp gauge sender is next to the oil pressure sender, and the coolant temp sensor is the one that uses a green injector clip. in order to use a e fan it is very easy you simply need to purchase a flexilite fan controler its about 40 bucks and is ajustible to allow the fan to come on between 170- 220 degrees simply ground the fan and run 12v stait to the fan controller then from the fan controler to the fan it is a very simple mod if you have any more ? feel free to ask
