I'm planning on swapping an S4 T2 motor into my 240Z. The only real issue I'm having with the setup is that I'm not very familiar with the rotary's ecu. I've been really considering just running a carb'd setup, but I figured I'd get a little more info on the stock Ecu's capabilities before I decide on that. Also, has anybody tried using a Haltech F3 with their rotary? Thanks guys, please excuse my ignorance.

Well most people don't run big aftermarket single on their stock ecu/harness/sensors etc.. just dangerous. Rotary engines are fragile, and all the power is in the tuning. Therefore standalones are a HUGE plus to rotaries. It takes only 1 ping to blow a seal, and that equals a rebuild. The stock ecu is not compatible with bigger injector unless you use a piggy back ecu, like an S-AFC. hope this helps, good luck with the swap.

There is no way I would run a stocker on my engine if I was doing a swap like that. Stand alones are getting cheaper and an F3 should power the fuel no problem, if it can do staged. I forgot. Then just slap on a distributor and you're good to go:) Or find a used full function EMS.

i think swapping with a stock ecu is a lot more wiring mess and nighmare than its worth.
if you really care the stock ecu runs a lot of timing 25-28dergrees@wot and about 85-90% injector duty. mike |
Thank you very much gentlemen, thats exactly what I needed to know. Theres an F3 for sale for $500 on the Datsun group I hang around with, so I think thats a go.

Well, it turns out that the F3 is setup to run 6 injectors, but it doesn't handle staged fuel delivery. That pretty much rules out it's use on a 13b, right?

Dammit. I lost all my typing so I will just post the short version.
There is someone running sequential, batch, or something like that on their 7. It will work if the injectors can handle some really small opening times. The only reason we run staged is to have an easier time tuning the idle and cruise. You can make it work without staged. |
you'd be MUCH better getting a full ECU with ign as well.. get an E6k. around $1000new.

pretty cheap price for the e6k
