I'm starting to wonder if my 86 is even a GXL.... I never looked into it really. I heard there were 86 and 87 "sport" models with aero parts but not everything the GXL had.



My 86 has the 5 lug suspension with 4 piston calipers, power sunroof and the black rear aero wing or lip. It doesn't have AAS, power windows, or stock cruise. Is it the sport model or the GXL? I thought in 86, they only had the 4 lug base and the 5 lug GXL but not sure...

yeah im thinking the same thing. i have the color history of themazda rx7 and the gxl and the sport package both have the same rims and the little black lip spoiler. but i know mines is a gxl cause it has the auto adjust suspension and the sport model didnt come with that lol. i have power windows, power mirrors and rear windshield wiper

i got 5 lug rims just like the sport package has. the base has 4 lugs circular design rimz

yours is a sport, thats a good thing. its lighter

The sport model is the best. You get sporty suspention, that cool lip, and its lighter. Mine came with huge fog lights that don't work anymore.

mine has a power sunroof, but no power anything else...4-lug rims, no rear wiper, aluminum hood...what is it?

I GOT AAS, rear wiper a heavy a$$ hood. Power windows , mirrors i think i got abs. but the sport package is better . m,uch liter and has the lip and the 5 lug rims

another sort of trivia question... that aluminum aero pan that goes under the oil pan was available on what years/trim levels?

sport has NO LSD.... only 86-88 GXL, 89-90GTUs, ALL TII have LSD. some cars have it optioned in https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Was standard in all models. If you don't have it, someone took it off and never put it back.

Yeah, that's what I meant.... I've only ever seen one. I'm assuming it was part of an aero package but not sure what years or models.

They would have buttons for sport or normal in that center console panel that has the security light, power window controls, etc. If you take off the front strut tower covers, you'd see actuators with wire harnesses coming from them too.

someone got asss cause when u open the hood where the shocks are theres a line running through them into the stuts center peice then from inside the car in the middle section there is two buttons. one is normal and the other sport. So obviously when uput it on sport the suspension gets a llil stiffer

What's the exact advantage or is there one for having the AAS Feature. Don't all FC3S's have the same suspension?

nah not really the gxl was suppose to be the luxuary edition for the 7's. so it came with alot of powered **** and nice upoulstry seats lol .
