it depends how i'm feeling in the GTU. sometimes i get 93 sometimes 87. if i'm going racing i put 93. not like it will really make a difference. its only a dollar or two more at the pump

To the contrary vosco. High octane gas may actually hurt your performance since it is more resistant to detonation. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
Get the cheap stuff and be happy you have a NA rotary. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif |
i'm probably wrong but i think i read somewhere higher octane fuel promotes cooler combustion temps ??? if so it would be better for the engine when i go drag racing cause while on the track i'm at 6000-8500 rpm most of the time and i usually do about 5 runs each time i go. just a thought :sigh:

well...like they said up a few posts... the N/A rotary does run a hell of alot better with lower rating. i run 87 all the time in my car, and i have put 92 or wutever, and it doesnt run as hard higher in the rpm range. but on a Turbo car, or even new civics and ****...higher octane is mostly better. South florida performance has a turbo civic daily driver running 11 (not sure though) and ive seen the dyno sheets on that bastard with just a difference in octane...pretty sad...it craps out with lower octane. also check out some detroits...my neighbor has a sweet 69 camaro Running on AV gas....it will not stay on with regular pump gas....
