I have a 87 that has a terrible body yet a great drivetrain.

Also have an 86 with a bad motor, which has been pulled.I'm wondering if the changeover is going to work considering,I'm putting the 87 drivetrain into the 86's body.but the trans originally for the 86 was an auto and the one I have is a 5-speed.I know about how I'm going to make the clutch and brake pedals work.

Are there any electrical gremlins I should beware of other than the Park N safety switch?

I think the tranny mounts on the chassis between the auto and manual chassis are different and you may have to play around with that. I can't remember if im correct. I did notice that the s5 vert i was working on has mounts for both trannies.

You also need the driveshaft.

the best way is to drill out all the tack welds for the mounts and then reweld the manual mounts where they're supposed to be, the pedals and master cylinders should be fairly straight forward

hey pimp, the change will work and with minimal effort. Just be sure tha any new mounts are welded in solid. i believe that you should only have to move one. as for electrical, there should be no gremlins to speak of. the auto had some wires but the manual won't. use redline fluid if ya want it to last. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif
