Ok quick background story, my car was flooded on start up and wouldn't start properly when hot. So I pulled the injectors out and got them professionally cleaned, leak tested, flow tested etc. and were all good. I put the car back together and it wouldn't start.

Today I pulled the EGI fuse out and pulled the spark plugs out, cranked it a few times to un-flood it. Then I put new spark plugs in and it starts ok.



Now here's the actual problem:

It won't idle without my foot on the throttle and smells like it's running rich. Also after it stalls there is some white smoke coming from the engine bay. I'm not sure if it is gas on the engine burning off (from when the injectors were pulled out) or perhaps it is coming out from a possible intake leak?

The throttle cable is looser since I put it back on. Could this be a possible cause?

white mist might be fuel so i would look for a bad intake manifold gasket



try carb cleaner to search for vac leaks

There wasn't a gasket on the manifold when I pulled it off.

Should there be a gasket between the intake manifold?



I'm thinking that it is a vac leak. I found a couple places where it could've been coming from. I put new clamps on the throttle body to intercooler pipe and from the turbo to intercooler pipe as well. Also tightened up a clamp on the outlet side of the compressor of the turbo and it seems to be running better but I can still hear a hissing sound.



I'm guessing that if there's meant to be a gasket then the hiss could be the air coming in through the gap of the intake manifold where the gasket should be.

Is this sounding right anyone?
