What would happen if I had one of the primary injectors not working?
my engine vibrates a lot till about 3000rpm....and it doesn't run unless I have the mixture screw (or whatever it is next to the boost sensor) turned all the way clockwise. |
before messing with the idle a/f mixture (or the idle set screw even) you should jumper the initial set connector. Find the initial set connector near the front drivers side corner of the engine bay, its a plug with two connectors in it, one perpendicular to the other. Insert a wire or paper clip (anything conductive) in both connectors to short it, then try set the idle A/F mixture and the idle. You might also want to check/adjust your TPS. Get the shop manual if you don't have it already, or you'll have to do some google searches to find more info on this stuff.

I have already went thru this initial stuff...idle looks kinda funny, but it holds. No effect if I'm turning the idle screw in the BAC valve though.

check the ignition timing? might also be a vacuum leak.

Well.....I'm still extremely curious what would it look (feel/sound) like if one of the injectors was dead.
Does anyone know ? |
You turbo or no? Only one fuel injector not working wouldn't create a horribly big loss in power, you would just lean out a lot in lower RPMs. Now, if your turbo and one injector goes out...that can be very bad, lol...BOOM.
|
maybe you could try unplugging primary injectors. if when you unplug one of them it doesnt effect the operation, i'm guessing you've found your bad injector.

My clogged set of 550cc (E-BAY) injectors would fire up my motor.... barely. It ran so bad it would never even get over 1000 RPM.
Luckly I found a GOOD set from PartsTrader. |
Hmm.. I running on one rotor right now. Apparently, I have permanent fuel cut due to a fried ECU. Anyhow, my car starts right up and idles fine. It revs a little slow and there is NO power after about 60 mph, but it is still drivable. It has barely any power right now though.

the one rotor cars ive driven will usually start ok, but they will barely rev up in neutral
