I was wondering if you could help me out, are there any rotary performance books out that are worth buying and could you please tell me where to buy them at?

haynes repair manual. not really a 'performance' book, but a great reference tool. its under 20 bux at any auto store: autozone and r&s strauss.
|
I have one of those already, I wouldn't exactly call it a performance book, More like a PIA but thanks for the reply. If there isn't one someone should definitely make one.

NO DON'T BUY IT!
The RX-7 Performance Handbook is a worthless use of a tree. You'll find better information in the FAQ area then you will in that book. Haven't read the Road and Track book, I cannot comment on that one. |
im going to say the complete oposite of the above about the performance handbook its worth the money true that alot of that information can be found else where but its all in that book and you wont need to search around for it
its also a good read it is on all rx7s though not just the FC it also has some info on the cosmo and the other RX's my 2 cents |
Does anyone know where i could buy those books if I wanted them.

GS, GSL, GSL-SE, GXL, Quickor, Turbo. what the **** is a quickor? kevin. |
Quickor was an aftermarket tuner that did some work on the first gen. They added a handling package to it - stiffer springs, Bilstein shocks, thicker roll bars, LSD, and polyurethane bushings. Wider wheels and tires were also added. One magazine's tester improved the stock slalom speed from 52.9 mph to 57.8 mph with all the additions.
I got that from "RX-7 Mazda's Rotary Engine Sportscar" by Brian Long. My library also includes: The "FC" and "FD" books by Jack Yamaguchi Sports Car Color Histroy - Mazda RX-7 Mazda RX-7 Gold Portfolio 1978-1991 and the Mazda RX-7 Performance Handbook The Yamaguchi books are by far the best. The Gold Portfolio is kind of like the R&T book pictured above. It includes all kinds of magazine articles about the RX-7. Sports Car Color HJistory is pretty good and probably the easiest to find. I usually see it in Barnes and Noble when I peruse that section. The Performance Handbook was a disappointment. At least I can say I have it. Also, none of these are really performance books with the exception of the Performance Handbook. They are great reading though. |
Dude
If rotary performance is what your interested in, you have to, I repeat have to get the Racing-Beat cataloge for your car. "The bible of rotary performance" and a must read for any rotary enthusiast. These guy's have been around since the rotary engine came to America and they know there ****, trust me. Their phone number is: (714)779-8677 They make a volume for each generation(RX-7), so you'll have to tell them what year your interested in. PK797 NYC |
