I'm about half way through taking my Cpus wiring harness apart. There are a lot of connections that are not used and I'm gonna scrap them, do i need to but a cap on each one or can i throw a bunch of them into a single one? will it matter if they touch?

At the very least. I'd wrap every end.
then bundle them together. If they no longer serve a function, no big deal. But incase you have a ground in that bundle that is no longer on use, Make sure they don't make a connection. You wouldn't want them to corode and possibly cause damage to another item in the future. Just the common sense approach, but wires can always come back to haunt you! Be careful. |
if they are grounds it doesnt matter, but you dont want a 12v positive wire haning around. the flow chart kinda works like this
12v power----->switched part (solenoid, injector)-----> ecu------> ground mike |
What if they are positive? for example, there are 3 green connectors over by the primary coil( the one closest to the radiator), that are not in use. But they are a power source, because i had my old efan running off of it, I want to scrap it, what should i do?

make sure theres a cover over it, so it cant arc to ground and pop the fuse

thats what i thought, thxs! 1 more ?.. could i put several wires into that cover?
|
i would tape them all of seperate

If you are running a Haltech all you will need to keep in there are the wires for the windshield wipers correct?
|
these are not the ECU wires, these are the CPU wires, for headlights etc.

Never mind, serves me right being as I have never done it, lol.
I should read more carefully! |
