OK, so here's the problem. My car, though 14 years old, runs like a champ. Rev's to redline when in neutral no problem. But if I'm in gear driving down the road, I'll be going along, and no matter how fast I'm acclerating, weather full blast, or barley on it, my engine stops reving at 4000RPM or so. And no matter what I do, it wont go any higher. Well first one of my friends told me it might be my timing. So I bought a timing light and everything seemed to be right on. But when I went to hook up the L1 wire, I got no signial through the timing light. Thought maybe it would might just be the wire, but wouldn't I still get some signial through it. So I was thinking maybe this is my problem. I tried hooking my timing light up to the three other plug wires, and they all lit up like they should. So A: would my L1 coil being bad cause my car not to rev any higher. and B: Is there anything I could do to check if it is just the wire? Also a friend of mine said it could be a clogged catilitic converter. Which I'm hoping it's not. But any other probs? (I've checked all the vaccum lines I could get to, and they all seem ok, so.........)
