hey do you guys know what I could use to take out the thin protective plastic layers in there? Half of it is already gone and now they look like ****.

I've tried so many things but it just won't go!!! I'm trying to melt them with a hair dryer now but it doesn't seem to work either.

that is a good question, mine is doing the same thing. I was thinking about useing adhesive remover or MEK

Start off using some 600 grit sandpaper, then work your way out to some real fine paper, like 2000. Then finish it up with a little rubbing compound.

Or save yourself 2 hours of labor to only have them still look shitty and get a new pair, if you know someone at the dealer, they are under $90 a pair, and you wont regret the purchase

ummm. why dont you just take out the whole ftp??

I like it with the FTPs in. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I sanded it with 800 and then 2000. They look much better now although they're kinda blurry. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

thanks guys

Now polish them with some plastic polish, or even some 3m Finesse ( either I,II,or III), if you have any, and they might look a bit better! I dont know if the 2000 will get out the 800 scratches though, try some 1000, then 1500, then the 2000- then the plastic polish

just sand em down, and if ur car is black, put some tint on em or spray em black (only looks good on a black car)
