I think my clutch is going out. How long would it take for someone to put in a new clutch in for the first time?

If you are doing it for the 1st time it could take a good while(1 or 2 days) b/c you are going into unexplored teritory. Here is what you'll need: new clutch disc, pressure plate, pilot bearing & puller, throwout bearing, braided stainless steel clutch hose(optional), clutch fluid, transmission fluid & fluid pump, flywheel holder and 21/2 inch wrench or socket(for flwheel nut removal), clutch alignment tool, 1 or 2 friends if possible, and the use of a lift if possible. If you can't get a lift you can do it using 4 jack stands and a jack in someones garage. Here is what you'll have to do. Remove your precat/downpipe and maincat for working space(room to get to bolts on tranny and remove tranny). Then remove your driveshaft. While you are doing that you should let the fluid drain from the tranny. Next unplug all electical connections from your tranny and starter. Then remove all the the slave cylinder from the tranny. After that remove the shifter from the tranny. Then while supporting the tranny start to remove the bolts that hold the tranny and starter to the back of the engine. Remove the starter from the tranny. Now that the tranny is free youcan then wiggle it loose from the back of the engine. With tranny off you can remove the throwuot bearing(just slide it off the shaft of the tranny). Next remove the pressure plate bolts and pressure plate and clutch disc. Once that is out of your way then you'll need to remove the flywheel and take it to be resurfaced. With the flywheel being resurfaced you can pull your pilot bearing. There is the disassembly for you now all you have to do is put allof the new parts back in.

took me a weel. considering i broke a couple hoses (coolant hose under throttle body) and had to wait for the new hose. had to take tb to take off tranny bolts on top. good luck with it. just make sure u remember where everything goes
