That's pretty cool, I really like those. They just need to flash back and forth like knight rider now!

Those are pretty sweet... How much tdid the entire project cost you.... How much would it cost to have a shipped, prefabbed kit?

Actually, I'm working on some LED driving lights right now. I just got a bunch of .5W 10mm white LEDs off Ebay, drilled mounting holes into the back of the FTP, and wired them all in parallel. For the pics they're running off of a DC power supply until I make a current limiting supply to run them off the car. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif

I had to sand down these FTPs a lot to get the rock chips out of them. My advice: wet sand with 400 grit to get all of the chips out, then clean up with 800 and 1500 grit wet. Finish up with a good clear plastic polish.

Great looking project you have there! I've thought about doing that on my car for a long time, and now I may have the inspiration to actually do it. Modified FTPs as daytime running lights makes a lot of sense to me or at least more sense than "flash to pass."

I don't know how much the LEDs are on e-bay, but you can get some here for less than $1 each (in a 100 pack):

At Radio Shack they are about $2.60 each.

I could see running them on a solid-state voltage regulator, then hook them to the 'parking' lights...

That would look pretty pimp.
