I'm considering buying a rebuilt engine and getting 3mm apex seals and street porting done to it. Where do you guys suggest i get the engine from? Who are some reliable rebuilders?

pineapple racing, judge ito (jrs rotary performance), and mazdatrix

Turbo or n/a motor? 3mm apex seals are a waste of money. PineappleRacing.com

What is the big difference between 3mm and 2mm apex seals i've hard that they are either fantastic or a "waste of money." And I also want a turbo II engine. My goal is to get like 250-300 hp at the flywheel. I was checking out Atkins rotary. The price is right but is this like a pay for what you get type deal?

Another question. Will i be able to pass emissions with a street ported engine? If no would it be possible to rig on like 3 cats just for the day to get it tested? I'll be running without cats anyways.

Call and talk to Rob Golden @ Pineapple Racing. JR(Judge ITO) is also someone you should talk to. If you are not completely comfortable talking to that particuliar engine builder find another. Your report with the engine builder is the MOST important aspect of the transaction. When I called Hayes and Atkins I was not comfortable with the way the we communicated, so I found a builder I was comfortable with. John

i'm getting mine from MAZDA thanx to the advise of Vosko, but Mazda offers a one year warrenty on theirs, i'm paying $2100.00 + $110(gasket kit) for a S5 engine, then find a blown engine and put all the parts on it. That way you have a strong as hell engine with zero miles and a one year warrenty EVEN IF YOU BLOW IT!!! :bigok:

S5 engine, then intake, downpipe, midpipe, cat-back, ported wastegate and you'll be sitting at a cool 300hp at the flywheel bro. It's that simple, just don't do what I did!!! NEVER FORGET FUEL SYSTEM UPGRADES!!! we think that's how mine went! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/violin.gif

I'm not sure if I made it too clear, pull the parts off the blown engine, like uim, lim, turbo, intercooler ect. and put them on the https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif MAZDA block. That's what I would do, and am doing!

What Mazda, just like a mazda dealer and what do you mean by put them on the block
