Could be a messed up selector in the tranny and your actually going into 5th.

Next time it happens try putting it into 5th. If there is no change they you know its the selector.

Its easy to get the paddles horked up if your shifter bushings are bad.

Yeah, the 3800 thing......

The fuel pump ground sux, takes 5 min to fix it up.

Clogged/dirty secondary injectors do the exact same thing ~3800. hint hint.

S4's have a variable resistor for the fuel pump. Ive often wonderd if thats not the problem

on some of the cars that "cant" get rid of this problem.

Take the pump out of the tank and make sure its wired tight. Then ground the tank to the body.

Ive seen brand new/cleaned fuel injectors that were stuck from the cleaning/flow test solution.

A few snaps of 12 volts takes car of it, but only a snap or youll ruin your injectors. If they start out not clicking you know it was the prob.
