every so often it'll be running and the temp will just start rising. go up to just under the line right under h then drop right back down to normal. the thing is it does it at all speeds. it doesnt atter whether im stopped going, what rpm nuthin. i thought it was my thermostat getting stuck but i just replaced it. i just replaced my radiator ...................could it be the waterpump. i'm not sure if it would cause it though. sorry for being longwinded but i really need to keep her runnin. any help would be appreciated.

Start by changing your thermostat. My car was doing the same thing it was a sticking thermostat. You should be able to buy a Stant one at Autozone or Discount. I would try to get one from Mazda though.

Your fans work, maybe you have a short and they are coming on and off.

i have an elec. fan and i checked it, its running fine . i just installed a brand new thermostat from mazda. this is confusing. i'm on the verge of thinking its a blockage in the water jackets in the housings? couldn't i take it to a shop and they can flush the coolant system......like fluch it under pressure to get all the crud out?

maybe its a bad temp sensor?

never thought of that. is there any way to test and see if its operating properly?

that's your problem you are using i electric fan listen and listen very carefully nothing, nothing cools down better than the fan clucth from factory put ur fan clucth back with it's cover !!!!!!! change telmostac

and after tell me how you went another thing people say that if u put an electric fan is better cuz u gain horse power cuz the fan clucth takes horse power off the engine answer nnnnnnnnnnnnnoooooooooo

that's the stupies thing i have ever hear in my whole life why just because the power that u add when remove the fan clucth u are subtracting when u put the fan clucth cuz u chargenig from the alternator i hope u ge something good out of it !!!!!!!!!!

I think new thermostats tend to stick for like the first week of use or so. This has been the case for me. Usually its just on initial startup when the car first warms up. I usually just keep the rpms down until it is fully warmed up. Its not impossible that the new thermostat you bought is defective, I've heard of that happening before.
