i have a quick question, i own a 88 GXL and hopefully i can get the car back on the road again, my question is how much torque can the stock rear differential on my car hold before it grenades itself? i cant seem to find any answers anywhere else, also the specs on a TII rear diff if possible. thanks for the help. later

Depends on how its used.. I mean would you be dumping clutch at redline? I believe Rice Racing had 600rwhp and the stock s4 diff was holding up fine. S4 t2 diffs can hold more power than s5. I have no idea about the n/a, but those rarely grenade from n/a power.. t2 halfshafts start to break beyond 400rwhp..

revvin, you are giving him HP not torque. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
I think that your rear end will hold about 200-250 ftlbs |

if that guy is pushing 600hp on his stock rear end then his torque would have to be at least 300 lbs through the rear diff? say i have 300 lbs of torque , will the rear end hold reliably under normal driving and seldom abuse? tha https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif nks for the help!
