Okay kinda off topic but this is funny, we had a guy come into our shop the other day and say "hey my blow off valve is broke can you guys see whats wrong with it, I just put it on and its not working!"

The car was a 1992 mazda MX3 with a NA v-6 motor. He was asking why his car was running like crap and the bov didnt work, I was like okay dude...... 1. your car is na it has no need for a bov...... 2. your bov has just created teh biggest vacuum leak ever know to man.

Then he tried to argue with me about why his car needed a bov. Finally I just got pissed off and went back inside the shop.

O.K. even more off topic but there seems to be the knowledge I need right here.Got a mid pipe the other day for my 87 GX.However it does not have a backpressure fitting to actuate the 5th and 6th ports.Ive noticed that some headers have a fitting welded on.Can I weld a fitting onto the mid pipe?Any specific information that you might share as to the fitting and it's placement would be appreciated. I really don't want to get into the 'other methods' of port actuation. Thanks and pardon me for 'butting in'. Bob T

You will need to weld a fitting on somewhere, it might as well be your midpipe. You didn't mention if you have Cats or not (I assume NO becaise of the midpipe) but if you do the pressure port should be on the engine side of them.

what happens if i run my car with out a O2 sencer?, when i first got the car it was not pluged in and i got 21 mpg all the way back from texas. i want to put my headers in but they wont have a o2 sencer till next week, is it ok to to run it w/o it for a week or so?

Its ok, but you get shitty gas milage, 21mpg doesnt sound like a car without an 02 sensor, 10mpg sounds more like it.

well when i bough the car, i dient see if it was connected, when i got home i noticed that it was not, so after looking at my friends car i found where its suposed to be connected and plugged it in, and i dient notice a difference. and i got 21mpg for 700 miles. how do u know if a o2 sencer is bad?

Umm check the FSM, which can be found all over then net,by checking resistance .But usuallyou can just tell by looking at them that they are bad, or getting worn out, chalky burnt color, along with sometime rust, that sort of thing, its always a good idea to replace it when buying a used car, unless you know its not that old, or is in for sure good working order.

SDJ Motorsports headers seem to be better. Ask banzaitoyota, he uses it on his peri-port motor. They are pricey though.

Also o2 sensor usually has to be in for emissions and inspection laws in some states.

well i would love to get sdj headers but im to poor, thats why i got used headers, and in pueblo colorado we dont have emissions https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
