randomly the Check engine light comes on

so, I have an 91 rx7 13b and I was wondering if anyone could help me maybe give me couple hints on what to do, so my rx7 when I'm driving it randomly the Check engine light comes on and when it do, it like looses power, it lacks power, kinda bogs down, and then when I turn it off n turn it back on, the check engine light its off n it drives normal again , and then outta no where the check engine comes on again, and it does the same just bogs down.. what do u guys think it might be?

Sounds weird, but if the check enging light is coming on that means the system has CEL codes stored which could point you in the right direction. Pull the CEL codes and see if that helps. There's a list of CEL codes for S5's in the Factory Service Manual.

Oh yeah. The next question is "How do I pull the CEL codes on my S5?" Go to www.banzai-racing.com and click the link to Tech Support in the left hand column list. This is probably the best step-by-step that I've come across.

Ah, yes! The TPS. Most RX7 oweners don't realize the number of problems with idle and acceleration an out of adjustment TPS can cause. At least at every oil change a TPS check should be done. Then, when something wierd pops up with engine performance or idle, the first place to look should be TPS setting.
