Hey guys, the new Turbo II I tore it down and redid all the vac lines I could find, removed the rats nest, air pump and all the other goodies. Got everything sorted out, and the idle started at 2k, after a few restarts it has moved itself down to 1k. And it was 1.5k in between using 2k and 1k as a baseline. Does the TPS need reset after pulling your car apart or should i look somewhere else?

A little more info that might help.. Remove the coolant bypass through the TB but did not do the TB Mod.

Thats your problem.

You can get away with removing the coolant bypass through the TB, both my T2 and my n/a are setup like that, just makes cold starts tricky.

Anywho, without all the emissions crap the cars generally like to idle a bit higher, not as high as you're saying tho. I'd try lowering the idle with the idle set screw on the TB first, if it does lower get it to the range you'd like it to be at, set it and then readjust the TPS to correct it.

that should solve your problem.

Weird man, because it was idling normal after I thrashed it about, I mean it was up to temp, I drove it for 20 mins, when I brought it back home and was letting it cool down before turning it off the idle moved slowly back down to ~ 750. And sounded fine...but since ive already pulled the TB out and its soaking in WD40 with the Rubber rings out, I might aswell do the TB mod.

Ended up blocking off the OMP...I am not going to pull the oil injectors today, so I threw vac line caps on the tops. And blocked off the big vac line on the UIM.

If anyone has any corrections or suggestions to my process lemme know.

iYea my t2 idled at 750rpm perfectly before i took it down to make it into a project, and that had no emissions, tb mod (including porting it) and all that ish, and it was dead on 750rpms. my n/a needs a tps so the idle is still bitchy https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png.

But like you said, you might as well do the whole mod anyway.

Yeah, I went ahead and did the whole mod tonight, busted out the dremel and scotch pads to port and polish.
