Has anyone did a ram air intake on a turbo Rx7 . I'm thinking of doinng it on my 88

ram air doesn't really start helping the intake charge till around 80 mph, by then your turbo's already spooled so it's kind of a moot mod. especially since if you ever drive it in the rain then the rain will be getting rammed through your filter, and if not piped right it would get the electronics inside the engine bay wet and possibly short something out. if you had an N/A, it'd be another story

Im thinking of putting the air filter were the factory intercooler is so it would be drawing the air from the hood scoop

getting cooler air will be your only advantage, which isn't a bad one at that. if you do that you might see some lower intake air temps but that's about the only benefit. more of a reliability mod than a performance mod

That will be the main reason for doing it, if everything works out it will look almost like its a factory intercooler but will be the air intake
