so i have my car and it had a cooling problem.. the gauge kept goin up and down.. then one day it was all good at a nice level but my radiator blew.. now i want to buy a new one.. i have the 1990 fc3s n/a what would be the best place to get one from close to soCal and or the best type?

If you overheated the car in any way, you could have serious engine problems resulting from the overheat. It can range anywhere from blown coolant seals to warped housings or end plates to nothing depending on how long it was heated. These engines (well any engine) do not appreciate being overheated the cooling system is the life of them, all it takes is one good overheat to ruin the motor. If your radiator blew it could have been from the coolant being over pressurized and a faulty radiator cap combined and the pressure has to escape be it through the cap or blowing a hose or anything else in its path. I would get a used radiator and flush it out and install it to see what happens. You want to run a Mazda(and only Mazda OEM) thermostat, inspect water pump, inspect fan clutch, and put a 30/70 mix of ethyl glycol/water and see what it does. If with new thermostat and a functional fan clutch and everything else in the cooling system up to par and it continues the problem is no longer in the cooling system. It can be internal engine damage.
