Alright guys, i have a large task. I'm trying to find a suspension setup for the track for my TII. Now, this car will NEVER, see the street again, it will be my HPDE/race car. So I'm looking for something that is only good for the track. I'm on a budget of say 1-3K for a complete setup.



First lets start with shocks/springs/coilovers:

I know the names kyb, bilstine(sp) and eiback(sp?) are all around good names in suspension, but are their any good sets of coilovers for the FC, i mean better than a good shock/spring combo? if not, what are the stiffest springs, and a shock to match them?



Sway bars and endlinks:

What are the biggest sways front and rear i can run? IIRC the front sway could stand to be larger by 2mm or so. This should help to add a little oversteer to the car, making it rotate quicker. The TII is a 20year old car, so I'm thinking i should add some beefy endlinks cant hurt.



Camber plates:

I hear ground control CP's are good. Who else is there?



Anything else?

I dont want to go WAY overboard on this car, I'm assuming the suspension geometery is much better than my subaru, so i should need to modify the castor at all with an anti-lift kit?



I think thats about it, i plan on running 17x8 wheels with varying tires. The car's interior will be stripped and a cage will be fitted, with som nice racing seats and 5pt harnesses.

i run jic majic,,,,,,, flt-a2 suspention wich you can pic up for around 1200 to 1500 depending on where ya go. as far as sway bars racingbeat sways and endlinks work well and are cheap as well.

I HEARD, never experienced, but heard alot of good reviews for the KYB AGX shocks with Eibach progressive springs. 4 way adjustable in the front and 8 way in the rear. I heard on the softest matching setting, theyre stiffer than stock, and on the stiffest setting it feels like you welded metal bars in there. As i said, this is all from people ive talked to, fellow FC owners, etc. So i cant really personally testify to this but hey, if anyone else here is running this set up feel free to throw in your 2 cents!

I wouldn't recommend JIC for a track only car, you'll end up breaking them.



On the low end of your price range, I'd look at some Stance coilovers. They come with good stiif spring rates, 15 clicks of dampening adjustability, pillowball uppermounts, monotube, etc. www.StancesUS.com



On the high end of your price range, I'd recommend some Endless coilovers. Same as above, but stronger and race proven in the JGTC.

I really can't recommend much beyond the coilvers, and I'd say get those first and test drive the car before going any further. this is what we ran on our actual race car (its/ps1) for 4 seasons.



k2rd camber plates (ground control is ok too), with 350/250 springs and agx's



we later switched to koni's and 400/275's



i think you'll find most of the JDM stuff is too stiffly sprung, and the damping is not as good as a koni insert.



plus you're racing so you're gonna be breaking stuff. its cheap and easy to replace the koni/gc stuff.
