Anyone with Racing Beat suspension package or have had one on a car in the past?

I'm interested in it. Thoughts and opinions?

vosko, why did u upgrade to coilovers then?

vosko 08-09-2003 09:32 PM

my 275/40/17's were rubbing on the fenders. coilovers = ride height adjustable https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

so u raised the car up?

vosko 08-09-2003 10:06 PM

about 1/2" up. also the springs are alot stiffer. if i had the stock rims and tires it would be a non issu'e. also if i kept the 255's it would have been fine too... but ah well lesson learned https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

why didn't u roll the fenders?

vosko 08-09-2003 10:40 PM

didn't feel like bringing it to the body shop and paying for it

turbovr6 and I ghetto rolled them with a baseball bat https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Cheers what is your ultimate goal. I used to run the full RB suspension package on my TII. I eventually went to a coil over setup so I could run front camber plates. IMHO the rear swaybar is not needed it stiffens the car too much in the rear I ended up putting the stock rear swaybar in.

The RB package is awesome and will transform your car. BUT if you plan on AutoXing heavily save your dough and get the coil overs you'll end up with them eventually.

well i'm looking at replace some suspension on my car, as the shocks on the rear are starting to go after 14 years and 193,000 kms.

i just started autocross this summer, and damn those guys are good. I never though it was that hard to find your way around the course. I must say that if are full on the gas and you are still scanning around the course looking for cones to see where you are going you are screwed.

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Don't ask me how i know.

Anyhoot. It boils down to either:

A.) saving money and having simplicity (RB suspension package)

or

B.) K2RD coilovers wtih all the bells and whistles and then have a setup where i have no idea how to correctly change or manipulate the settings. (ie i won't be able to use the full potential of these things).

So i'm at a loss, i understand the importance of corner weighting and having camber, chaning TOE IN and TOE out as well as caster and all that stuff, but i'm a rookie autox guy who learned how to drive stick last summer (after i bought my car) ahhaha.

I would have no idea how to play around with the setting to imporive time... etc... etc... and i feel that autox is 99% driver and 1% equpment.
