Ok I got a set of the OZ Superleggara wheels last fall. I'm getting tires for them this week, but I have one concern. They are 17X8.5 measuring from inside the lip to inside, the entire width of the wheel is 9". I was going to go 225/40 in the front and 245/45 in the back. Everything looks like it will fit fine in the back, but when i put a wheel on the lugs in the front without the tires on it there is only a finger width of room between the edge of the wheel and my suspension, it's up on jack stands right now, so I know the arms will swing out a tad when it gets put on the ground, but I still get the feeling they are going to rub on the springs. Does anyone know if these wheels won't work or if I'll be fine? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

You could always run thin spacers if they don't work, because it sounds like they are pretty close. A friend of mine used 16.7x5 300zx stockers on his TII for autocrossing, which needed 1/4" spacers up front, and he was happy with the choice. I am planning to do the same with my FC this upcoming season.

what about the fenders up front? would those be cleared as well?

TII777 03-01-2004 12:22 AM

yeah dude the fenders are fine, you know it you saw it with your own eyes tonight in all its splender, but yeah i suppose i could go with a small spacer, but I bought them from whiplash and he said they were on his TII, so I assumed there would be no spacers needed, but it sure is cutting it close if it does work.

Brandon, those are 17 x 8's I sold you and yes there tight up front w/ 225-45....However I ran a 225-45 up front and it barely cleared (coilovers)... get a 225-45 and then get a 5mm spacer and you'll be more than fine...otherwise get a 215-45...

On the back get a 245-40

if you need help call me damn it! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png whiplash

You will definately need spacers in the front. I have 17x8 OZ Superleggeras with 225/45 and while the did look fine with the car in the air, they'll press hard into the suspension when you put it down. I haven't tried fitting spacers yet to see what size I'd need, since my car's been down since June. Let me know what size spacer you end up using.

TII777 03-03-2004 09:17 PM

ill probably go with what BRad said and get a 5mm spacer. I'll let you know how it turns out.

hmm well we shall see, I have 16x8s with 225s up front. No rubbing. I have drove it with them on too..
