Hello to all ye Rotary Gods;
I've just got a quick question pertaining to my stock '86 N/A. Recently my front cat decided to incinerate itself and take the mid and rear cats with it. After gutting out the pre cat and putting on a new mid and rear cat, I started her up. I let it idle for a few minutes until it nearly reached normal operating temp. The whole time I was glancing under the car and trying to figure out where exhaust was leaking from. I discovered a leak at the flange between the 1st and 2nd cat because I had neglected to tighten the nuts enough. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif I also noticed that the mid cat was glowing red along the front half of the converter. I as just wondering if this is a normal occurence, or if I should make further checks into the fuel/ignition systems. Thanks for any advice, Eric |
They shouldnt glow red. Im not sure how many things can cuase them to glow red. Normaly they do when clogged.
