What are the downsides to having the intake air blow through the AFM as the guys has in that picture? My friend tells me you get better throttle response among a few other advantages, but what about disadvantages?

That is odd. You would think it wouldn't work right.

So i don't get whats in the pic? Is it the afm is moved? i know it had to be level to work properly, don't know if location matters. Are u sure in that pic, that guy isn't running a standalone ems??

vosko 01-06-2003 08:37 AM

i don't think the AFM is supposed to have compressed air going through it........... i'm guessing you could actually damage the AFM if you run a good amount of boost. besides that i think its fine https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

vosko 01-06-2003 08:38 AM

oh yeah AFM are only like $600 from mazda so i don't know if you want to mess with them.... if you break it your gonna be sorry LOL

oh I get it. Yea I agree with vosko I don't think the afm is supposed to have compressed air go through it.
