First I'll start with the fuel injector deflectors thingamajiggers. When I took out the little brown plastic pieces underneath the lower FIs, the deflector type thing under the FI going to the rear intake was broken off. I have a pair from an '88 and I'm using '88 housings the rest is all '89. The s5 thingy is just a round piece of plastic angled at like 45 degrees. The '88 "thingies" are two plastic circles with several little holes in them where one is angle like 45 deg and the other is perpendicular to the direction of the spray of fuel.

I hope that is understandable.

Now, as for the flywheel, can I use the '89 flywheel w/ the '88 rotors? I'd only use it for no more than 500 miles at most, and that's pushing it (this is part of the break in time). Or would that put a lot of stress on the E-shaft, breaking in the seals, and what not?

And with the wastegate... I'm thinking maybe it would be better to pin the wastegate open on the turbo for like 700 miles or so to prevent boost from building up. Would that be possisble or is it better to just keep the turbo in normal working order? I'm running the RB full exhaust by the way.

dont use that flywheel, its gonna do damage to the bearings, and it also bends the eshaft (we've seen a few lately).

you can wire the wastegate open, or you can be good with your foot https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png , sup to you. i can drive it without boosting, but some people cant

OK, cool. Thanks again!

why are you putting S4 parts in a S5............NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! don't do it!!!

Whats your fuel related question? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

my friend's 89 TII had S4 engine.... it def felt slower than my S5...

It'll cost me a lot more to use s5 parts. One of the s5 side housings is out of tolerance, the others are barely within, and plus the s4 housings and rotors were free. Plus, I think the lower compression would be to my advantage when I raise the boost. Which reminds me.

How much boost would a stock turbo/T04 hybrid be able to make? I'm only looking for like 250 hp. Not too much b/c I want to do a little solo I & II, keep it fairly reliable.

The fuel injector related question was about the brown injector things.

But yeah... thanks for the advice though.

250hp and about 10psi will be fun, and it should be reliable too

i like to do things once and do it the correct way. low compression = lower power! my old TII was pushing 250hp easy.... with the stock catback!!!
