I went over some larger than i thought bumps faster than i should have, and now, my pwr steering works sporadically. On a restart of the engine, it works for about the first half mile, then no power steering. Shut off the car, turn it back on, then another half mile. Fluid level is fine,there are no leaks, belt is new and tensioned within specs...is it the pump?

take it off, you don't need it, mine is gone, and I drive a vert, heavier than yours, and its not bad. I like it more, better feel for the road.

wouldnt that cause some sort of belt slippage on the waterpump? I've already removed the a/c belt...

Cap off the connectoins or put a hose from one side to the other (don't remember which one it is)

Get a manual rack

it shouldn't, only the removal of the air pump would cause that
