i put a T70 kit on this weekend and the only problem i have is the BOV is not working...
the vacuum to it is connected with no holes or leaks in it. and theres no boost leaks in the intercooler (stock) or the piping to it. any ideas??? |

fixed it. the stock top mount is fine.... but your next mod should be a FMIC really a stock intercooler doesn't seem like it would cool it as well with a T70 after all the intercooler was for the STOCK turbo cooling system |
of course it will not cool as good as a front mount. but it still does its job. and im only boosting 10psi. top mount is just fine...says many people pushing over 300whp with the top mount.
i'll post some pics... |

but your next mod should be a FMIC really a stock intercooler doesn't seem like it would cool it as well with a T70 after all the intercooler was for the STOCK turbo cooling system stock turbo is ineficient @10psi, or its blowing really hot air. a larger turbo is blowing cooler air @10psi, so the top mount works a little better with a bigger turbo than with the stocker |
oh youre only running 10psi?
****, shoulda left a stocker on there. kevin. |
why???
my car now at 8psi feels faster than it did at 14psi. but this thread was about the BOV. i have it working just fine now. lets end it before the inevitable arguing about stock intercooler, stock turbo, efficiency blah blah blah starts. thank you... |
some pics...

YO .....YOU HAVE TO FIX THE DIRECTION THE FEED AND RETURN ARE FACING ...BY HAVING THE TURBO FEED FACING SIDEWAYS THE TURBO WILL BREAK.....THE FEED IS SUPOSE TO FACE UP....IF NOT YOU WILL CREATE LACK OF RETURN FLOW ....

who needs a bov, pff
|
wow yea aurosting points out a VERY important fact here...
your turbo is installed completely wrong. The oil feed line should be pointing straight up, oil return line should be straight down. The return is not pressurized so the way you have it setup is 90 degrees off, it will cause oil to pool and your car probably smokes like a mother. kevin. |
What are you using for extra fuel?
|
i know i should of done that...and i plan too. real soon. but no, its not instlled completely wrong. just the direction the feed and return are facing...
for extra fuel...walbro fuel pump, regulator, and HKS F-con and GCC. its chipped for TO4. runs rich even when set at 0. |

when i went to school in the 80's half wrong was like a B- when you were in school there were only 3 letters in the alphabet, geez. if theres 2 questions on a test and you get 1 wrong, you get a 50% which is an F :P kevin. |

Agree with the oil pooling you will back up the ret to the pan and blow out internal oil seals of turbo...have done that before when my ret line got kinked a little. |
