I know this has been discussed and all, but I'd like a little info for myself. Mazdaformance, from what I've been told is the cheapest, but the website says that they've closed their doors. Mazdatrix seems kind of expensive, but if I need to do that route, I'll do it. I've heard something about a banjo bolt mod, but I can't find any information about it. Does anybody know how to do it, or know where a write up is on the site? I'm pretty sure it's leaking (looks wet under the cap, and the UIM has a moist spot where it touches the PD. Thanks for any help

Marren Injectors makes one, but it is rather large and requires reworking the stock rail.
Yeah, I saw a thread on that one. If I knew how to do it, I'd look into it. What do you guys think of using a PD pulled from a junk yard car as a temp until a new one arrived? |

no wonder why i didnt recognize it. my PD is on the secondary rail.

So the banjo bolt- I can just screw into the end of my fuel rail in place of the PD, right? I think I'm going to order on of them, mostly to save the money. If anyone has any reasons that it's not a good idea to use one, let me know
The pulsation damper works to reduce the pulsations through the fuel rail caused by the rapid opening of the injectors. The pulsations of the fuel can result in loss of fuel through one of the injectors and can actually damage the injectors themselves. This topic has been debated quite a bit by 2nd gen owners because very few blown motors are ever diagnosed as a pulsation problem. But almost every vehicle with fuel injection has a pulsation damper. Mazda engineered the fuel system with the pulsation damper for a reason, to protect the injectors and the motor from damage due to pulsations from the injectors. So, basically you decide, many people have completed the banjo bolt mod with no negative results. A few have had problems. It's up to you. - Hand |
