Pulled the pressure plate and clutch. Looks a bit used up. I'm guessing those needle bearings laying there are what's left of the pilot bearing?

Here's the clutch disc. Has NKK stamped on it, along with a crown symbol. Is this a stock clutch? Shows a bit of wear, I'd say...

You're correct, that is whats left of your T/O bearing.

You mean pilot bearing, right? The throwout, or release bearing is on the clutch fork in the tranny. It's still intact.

Yeah pilot bearing.. damn.. thats nuts.. why does that happen?

Because it never gets changed.

Car only had 115k on it. I have a feeling some of those miles weren't easy ones.

I forget the general rule of pilot replacement but it's something ridiculous

Since no one has commented on it, I'm guessing the flywheel surface is pretty typical? It looked pretty torn up to me, but this is the first one I've looked at.

doesnt the stock clutch have only 4 springs?

Every clutch I've pulled has 6 but whos to say every clutch I've pulled is a factory disc...



I would hazard a guess and say factory has 6 springs

Every time you pull the clutch for sure but I thought they called for replacement even before you need to replace the disc

how can you tell if your clutch is stock?

look at the pressure plate, organic disk is an organic disk.........
